Deter also deliver courses directly to the community via adult and community learning (ACL). We deliver our ACL courses in South Tyneside, Sunderland, Washington and throughout County Durham, targeting areas of deprivation and high unemployment.

We deliver to anyone who meets our criteria but we specialise in those with complex/compounded barriers such as:

• Offenders/Ex-Offenders
• Long term unemployed/benefit claimants
• Those recovering from alcohol and substance misuse
• Those with low level mental ill health issues - low confidence-low self esteem-depression
• Homelessness
• Family/relationship problems (DV/CAF’s)
• Veterans

We receive referrals from various sources including:Job Centres,Next Step, CFBT, NECA, Norcare, Remploy, Phoenix Futures, South Tyneside Homes, Turning Point, Places for People, Byker Bridge Housing Association, Probation board, CVS and Volunteer Bureaus, Charity and Community organisations, Community Engagement Officers, Parent Support Advisors, Children’s Centres, Community venues, Leaving care teams, Occupational therapists, GP’s.
We undertake outreach work in the community to build relationships with our referrals agents and our perspective clients.

Previous customers include the Probation Board of Northern Ireland, Stoham Housing, The Home Group and St Mungo Homeless Accommodation Group and MOSAIC
